I have a Craftsman weed eater 32cc. I also have a Poulan chain saw. General question, after sitting all winter they both start fine but will die when I give them gas. I had stablizer in the gas for winter. I changed out the gas and cleaned plug. I have rebuilt the carbs on both. I have adjusted the high mix screws on both. Both still do the same thing. They will start and idle just fine. I can leave them idle for a very long time no problem. Can accelerate a little with the choke out some but they just die if i give them gas. Any ideas what is causing the issues?
Stabil is the culprit. You will find that the carb microscreen is plugged with a gelatin like goo, you need to open the cab up and either clean the screen or remove it entirely so if it happens again you can just backblow the fuel intake line to clear the carb. Stabil has messed a lot of carbs when left in the mahine over the winters, best to run the gas out and empty the fuel tank befor storing over 30 days.
